TRIFLES 2

THE HOUSING PROBLEM

Hearken to my tale of sorrow!
I must seek new digs tomorrow.

Though I picked the pieces up
When today I dropped a cup,
After I had had my tea
Mrs. Biggins said to me:-

"Oh! you miserable louse,
Breaking up my happy house;
I will have you apprehended!"
(You might think the world had ended!)

Tickled by the song and dance
Caused by such a slight mischance,
I gave vent to merry laughter;
Got the boot the moment after!

HOME THOUGHT FROM ABROAD

Oh, to be in England!
How I hate this sun!
How I long to see again
Just a little drop of rain!

HOME THOUGHT OF ABROAD

Now I am in England,
How I hate the rain;
How I long to get just one
Tiny little glimpse of sun!
